Hello, welcome to this Podcast. My name is Virginia Gomes. I'm a 3rd year Phd. Student at the University of Maryland in the International Education Policy Program in the College of Education.
This podcast is my final project for the Critical Policy Analysis of Urban Education Class in Spring 2023 taught by Dr. Sophia Rodriguez.
Today, we're going to interview Dr. Steven Klees. Dr. Klees is a distinguished scholar-teacher and professor of International Education Policy at the University of Maryland.
He has been a vocal advocate for public education for many many years. His recent book, The Conscience of a Progressive is an essential reading for scholars, and the public in general to understand how our capitalist system has taken education to private paths.
